PORT TOWNSEND — Rainshadow Recording will host Los Angeles singer-songwriter Abby Posner at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Palindrome in Eaglemount Cidery.

Posner has been a musician working in Los Angeles for 16 years. She is best known for her ability to play almost any instrument she can get her hands on, bending genres and pushing the boundaries of folk, roots and pop music, making her “Genre Fluid”, according to A press release.

This CalArts music grad has composed music for commercials/TV, movies, and radio shows all over the world (including Old Fashioned, The Fosters, This American Life, The Art of More, and Last Tango in Halifax , to name a few).

She has also placed music in commercials and TV shows throughout China, Sweden, the UK and Australia.

Posner appeared on two episodes of GLEE in season four, playing banjo and guitar, and on the Freeform show Famous In Love, playing banjo. In 2015, Posner performed live on KCAL 9 news and Good Day LA, playing original songs.

Posner scored four films: “Across Land Across Sea,” “Through Their Eyes,” the award-winning short “Animation Elizabeth Sees,” and “Lady Buds” while performing and touring with her indie folk band Abby and The Myth.

In 2019, Posner played banjo and sang “Wagon Wheel” as the lead in Bank Of America’s ad campaign for Ken Burns’ PBS country music documentary.

In 2020, Posner won the Carl Gage songwriting award ‘Give me Shelter in Place’ through the Topanga Folk Festival for his original song ‘Blind Spots’. She received second place for her song “Emergency Use Only” for the 18th Annual International Acoustic Music Awards, and she landed an official showcase at Folk Alliance International.
