Many people wonder why dancehall artist Kaakie lost his passion for music and decided to quit the music industry.
According to Ruthy of Nhyira FM, CEO of the Xtra Large label, Jam Master Jay is the reason Kaakie lost interest in music. Ruthy took to her page to divulge what had happened between Kaaki and her former manager Jam Master Jay and shared a tip with Jam Jay.
Taking to Facebook, she posted this; “
A quick on my #WcW
Kaakie rocked his shoulders with the men’s boot in reference to quality music and topping the charts. She’s the reason Shatta Wale shut down the Dome Auditorium somewhere in 2013.
Kaakie was simply the icing on the cake in the Ghanaian music industry between 2012 and 2017, thanks to the skillful hands of Jam Master Jay (JMJ) of Xtra Large Music (XLM).
But somehow, Kaakie’s meteoric and promising career has strayed from the industry altogether.
Like when she decided to part ways with Jam Master Jay’s label sometime in May 2019, JMJ took every track produced under her watch at Xtra Large Music, leaving Kaakie with a “0” track, unless the tracks qu ‘she recorded herself if necessary “!!
Kaakie was and remains a good artist who defined to most Ghanaians that “dancehall is not for male artists” !! Since being signed to Extra Large Music owned by JMJ, she has proven to many Ghanaians that she is a pro when it comes to Dancehall music.
But I believe we can’t just sit back and allow Kaakie to “die” with his talent. Thus, Kaakie and JMJ would have to correct their differences so that Kaakie would be allowed to perform the hit songs she released under Xtra Large Music.
In the extreme, #LegendarySamini would have to sit down with JMJ to meet Kaakie and the team (if there is any), as this incident “killed the passion” she had for music.
