Latin pop star and Parkland resident Ale Zabala has been chosen to represent Florida in an NBC songwriting contest.
American song contesthosted by Prime Ministers Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson on March 21 at 8 p.m. The show pits 56 artists, including some well-known names, competing against each other with original songs they wrote and will perform.
All 50 states plus five US territories and Washington DC will be represented in the competition by a solo artist, duo or group. Viewers will have the opportunity to vote for which act they think should win.
Some names you might recognize that Zabala will go against are Jewel (representing Alaska), Michael Bolton (representing Connecticut), and Macy Gray (representing Ohio).
The NBC show is based on the worldwide phenomenon “Eurovision Song Contest”, organized for 65 years by the European Broadcasting Union and watched by 200 million viewers each year.
Zabala, a 26-year-old Colombian, released her first single in 2019. She lives with her parents at Parkland Golf and Country Club.
