Rising singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun brings her cathartic folk-pop to the Higher Ground Ballroom on September 10, the first of only three headline dates on her “Purple Haze” tour.

The name of the tour is not a nod to the classic Jimi Hendrix song, although Oladokun cites Hendrix as a major influence on his music. Rather, it’s an emotionally charged new single she wrote in Los Angeles after a few wildfires, released in May ahead of her next album.
