Former President Barack Obama sets the tone for the summer with his personal recommendations.
Obama released a list of his favorite reads and songs this week including books like “Klara and the sun, “”Hail Mary project” and “The softness of the water“and songs including” Pick Up Your Feelings “by Jazmine Sullivan, “Walkin ‘” by Miles davis and the “Leave the Door Open” earworm by Silk Sonic (new duo from Anderson.Paak and Bruno Mars).
“While we were still at the White House I started sharing my summer favorites – and over the years it has become a little tradition that I look forward to sharing with all of you,” Obama wrote on Instagram. “I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.”
The 44th President of the United States has selected 11 books to highlight across many genres, many of which are already critically acclaimed as “Sweetness of Water,” which was selected as the latest addition to Oprah’s Book Club. Winfrey in June.
“Come #ReadWithUs, all of you,” the Winfrey Book Club account commented.
Obama released a long two-page summer music playlist a day after his book recommendations, describing music selections as “a mix of old and new.”
“With so many people getting together with family and friends, there is a lot to celebrate this summer. I have created a playlist of some of the songs I have listened to recently,” He wrote.
Obama made his first playlist in 2015 after creating a Spotify, according to an article written by Obama White House staff.
“When asked to pick a few of his favorite songs for the summer, the president got serious,” the article read. “He took pen and paper and wrote not one, but two separate summer playlists: one for the day and one for the evening.”
The inaugural playlist included songs like “Green Light” by John Legend, “The Best is Yet to Come” by Frank Sinatra and “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone.
